Town of Melita Wastewater Lagoon

Year: 2017-2018

Value of Contract: $2.7 million

Scope of Work: This project involved the general construction and renovation of the wastewater lagoon for the Town of Melita.  Fast Brothers transformed the existing three-celled facultative treatment lagoon into a two cell aerated wastewater treatment lagoon.  Clay fill and liner material were imported from an offsite borrow pit.  Fast Brothers primarily used tandem trucks to haul the clay necessary to build up the dikes for the new cell.  Altogether the project involved moving 160,000 cubic meters of material.  The majority of the work was done in 2017 and the remainder of the work will be completed in 2018. A follow up project for 2018 saw us as general contractor for the construction of two Submerged Attached Growth Reactor (SAGR) cells.
